Scanning Slides to DVD

slides                dvd case

Now you can enjoy your 35mm slides again. Before they fade, get crushed in the projector, get moldy or lost in the move, scan your slides to a DVD. Scanning your family slides can preserve you memories for the future in digital form that can be printed or viewed on your T.V.These images can be shared with your friends and family.

High resolution scans at 300 DPI or 600 DPI (photo) and transferred to a DVD for long life and easy viewing on computer or compatible DVD player for viewing on your TV.

Whether your family slides are in boxes, the original carousels, paper sleeves, albums or in cartridges, they can now be scanned to a DVD. Once on disk, the images can be printed at your favorite processing company or viewed. Copies can be made of the DVD and shared with your children and other family members. Some of the slides of the kids will be of  interest to your children, who may not even remember the last time they were viewed.

When I receive your slides, they are lightly cleaned with low pressure air to remove loose dust and dirt.  During the scanning process I use dust and scratch removal software.

After scanning, I use photo editing software to do any final cropping to remove the black border of the slide case and to do some minor colour correction. Some faded  slides can be brought to life. If the slide is underexposed (dark) or over exposed (very light)  or out of focus,  the scanning correction will not produce an image suitable for printing.

All scans will be rotated to the proper orientation. All scanned slide images will be in jpg format.

Your slides will be scanned for a 4"x6" photo at 300 dpi which will produce prints up to 8"x10" with some cropping.
Slides scanned for a 4"x6" photo at 600 dpi which will produce prints up to 16"x20" with some cropping. Scanning at
600 dpi will result in a larger file size than 300 dpi scans. However if you want the slides scanned at a different size, please note this in the slide scanning order form.

Different size scans, resolution and TIFF files are also available, please e-mail for details.

All scans are saved on  a DVD-R disk. The disk will be placed in a 14mm clear DVD case, similar to movie cases and not a slimline jewel case, with a cover insert with the title chosen by you.

Please allow up to 2 weeks to complete your small orders, longer if larger orders. Allow 3 to 4 weeks for personal cheques to clear.

If you are also using these slides for the slideshow, please attach the slideshow order form with this order.
